Aretha Franklin Gave Us All Something We Could Feel
And Aretha Franklin has died. I am a mess. A lot of great memories doing her music on my shows. 😢 A lot of entertainers owe a lot to her legacy. The music will carry on. Listening to her high energy Live From Paris album 1977 as I write this. I associate a lot of other fond, familial memories of her. She is like home. Very Detroit, very real, earthy and soulful. She truly gave us all something we can feel. She was a voice for not only women of color, but bridged a gap and became a voice for all women. The voice of a generation. Very pure. The real deal!

I Miss Obama
Watching THE 2000s on CNN and I really realize how much I miss having Barack Obama as our President. The landscape of this country under this current administration is so different now. Just saying. Credit to the photographer.
